Homestead
Homestead Property owned jointly as husband and wife is said to be owned by the entireties. This means the property is owned with rights of survivorship & the surviving spouse will own the property outright on the death of the first. This is most common on homestead acquired after marriage.
This is often the desired result, but can result in the first spouse to die losing any control over who the homestead will ultimately go to. If either spouse wishes to control to whom the homestead will ultimately go, additional action will need to be taken.
